The Full Story of Mystik Marketing

My journey began long before I knew I would become a marketer, long before branding, consciousness, and entrepreneurship wove themselves into my destiny. It started in 2005, when different friends helped me set up my very first Myspace profile.

I remember sitting at my friend’s computer, scrolling around, exploring pages made by other kids at school. During those early days of social media, something clicked. I knew—deep in my soul—that the internet was going to become something massive. Not just for society, but for me personally. It was an epiphany that changed everything.

The First Awakening — Myspace and the Power of Perception

In high school, I reinvented myself.

I stepped away from music and sports and became part of the party crowd. I wasn’t the most popular kid, but I built one of the coolest Myspace pages in school. A friend and I coded it ourselves — custom backgrounds, animations, curated photos, music playlists, the works.

I watched how people began treating me differently because of how my page felt.

That was my first real lesson in branding.

And it planted the seed for everything that would come later.

College, Growth, Responsibility — and the First Client

After high school, Myspace faded and Facebook took over.

This began another reinvention.

At community college, I left behind bad habits and focused on sitting front-row, learning, rebuilding.

Then Instagram launched — and those early days felt magical: raw, authentic, human.

Through Instagram, I found my first social media client:

Alexander, a man who owned a rare 1937 GMC Streamliner truck and needed help building a digital presence to restore the vehicle.

I was only 21.

Still early in my skills.

But he believed in me.

He paid me $300 for copywriting, strategy, and social media coaching.

It was the first moment I realized:

I could get paid for my ideas, creativity, and writing.

Today, his brand has over 32,000 followers.

That first client proved that storytelling — even humble, early storytelling — could change destinies.

Cal Poly Pomona — And a Prophecy About the Future

I changed my major a few times, worked warehouse jobs, learned to drive forklifts, and for a while thought about settling into that path. But after finishing community college (graduating with a 3.34 GPA) and after 2 years of those early morning 3 AM shifts often working 10 - 12 hours, something inside of me knew I needed more.

I got into Cal Poly Pomona. At orientation, Professor Jane Ballinger said something that struck me to the core:

“Many of the careers you will go into… don’t even exist yet.”

She was right.

Digital marketing agencies didn’t really exist at the time — not in full form.

Technology was evolving faster than education could keep up.

And today, with artificial intelligence accelerating everything, her words are even more prophetic.

Internships, Early Failures, and the Making of a Marketer

I pursued internships, including one with a Cal Poly alum running a small agency.

I cold-called, canvassed, pitched strangers… and learned how brutal sales could be.

One client asked for their money back despite incredible results.

Another never paid.

And even though I brought value — growing my boss’s Instagram to 11k+ followers — I never saw the commissions I earned.

I left disheartened but wiser.

I moved on to focus on finishing school, became a Resident Advisor, and graduated in 2019 with a Communication degree and a Public Relations emphasis.

Then I landed my first REAL marketing job at the university brewery — and excelled. For a year I did it all.

Events, social media, promotions, digital menus, branding — all of it.

And then COVID hit.

The campus shut down.

And like for many people, my job ended.

The world froze.

The Agency Chapter — Skillbuilding, Burnout, Mastery

In 2020, I joined a startup marketing agency as a Digital Marketing Coordinator.

For five years, I learned new skills and perfected my existing ones. I became a full stack marketer capable of:

  • Copywriting

  • SEO

  • Graphic design

  • PR and media outreach

  • Social media strategy

  • Paid ads

  • Web design

  • Branding

  • Creative direction

  • Project and account management

I became a complete marketer — capable of supporting clients end-to-end.

But near the end, leadership and management decisions created financial instability in the company.

Despite my loyalty, I had to make the difficult choice to walk away.

It hurt.

But I learned:

“I can no longer depend on someone else’s vision to secure my future.”

The Spiritual Storm — and the Dark Night of the Soul

Parallel to my career journey was something even deeper:

A spiritual unfolding.

It began in 2016, with an experience I can only describe as supernatural or paranormal.

Then heartbreaks.

Car accidents.

Moments that shook my identity and opened me to something beyond the physical.

I became more sensitive — feeling people’s emotions, energy shifts, inner thoughts.

It was overwhelming, confusing, transformative.

This period became what I know now as my Dark Night of the Soul.

I sought healers, psychics, mentors.

I pursued sobriety, hypnotherapy, and spiritual healing.

I began awakening to spirituality, God, the spirit world, and the unseen.

Eventually, this led me to a plant medicine ceremony that flipped my worldview upside down — in the best way.

I felt oneness.

Unity.

Divinity in all things.

The interconnectedness of life.

This awakening changed me forever.

2025 — Collapse, Responsibility, and the Call to Leadership

2025 was one of the toughest years of my life.

I had no choice but to leave my job.

I moved back home.

My elderly mother started having more frequent falls. Her health was declining, so I became her caretaker.

I’ve installed ramps to the home. I’ve helped her get into a consistent exercise routine, and I’ve helped nurse her back to health.

Artificial intelligence began transforming marketing at a rapid pace.

The job market froze.

I applied everywhere — nothing.

I knew I couldn’t go back to warehousing.

But I also knew I couldn’t rely on another unstable company to feed me.

And in that pressure — in that corner — came clarity:

  • It’s time to build my own path.

  • It’s time to trust the calling that’s been guiding me from the beginning.
